As part of its strategic plan and to accommodate projected growth, Sunroc Building Materials, a building supply firm that works primarily with contractors, has named Brian Johnson as general manager of its retail operations in Springville. Johnson is tasked with helping the company increase its reputation among contractors and the do-it-yourself homeowner. Sunroc Building Materials’ Springville operations include a retail hardware and lumber store and a gas station.

“This announcement is being made at this time because we see Brian as the individual with the background and capability to really grow our operations in Southern Utah County,” said Jeremy Hafen, president of Sunroc Building Materials. “Brian is an integral player in helping our company achieve its 2011 strategic goals of providing excellent service, increasing the store’s profitability and positioning the store as the go-to location for Southern Utah County.”

Johnson joins Sunroc Building Materials from Springville-based W.W. Clyde & Co., also owned by Clyde Companies, Inc. of Orem. Johnson served as director of human resources for W.W. Clyde from 2006 to December 2010. Prior to joining W.W. Clyde, he held numerous positions, including operations manager, human resources manager and store manager, at Sears, Roebuck and Company from 1992 to 2006. Highlights of his tenure there include the management of a $30-million operation and oversight of hundreds employees.
