Sunpro recently implemented an English as a Second Language (ESL) program for its non-English speaking employees.
As an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, Sunpro strives to hire diverse employees regardless of race, religion, gender, age, color, national origin, disability, or covered veteran status. Often that means employees are hired who don’t speak English as their native language.
Sunpro recognized a need and created a solution with the implementation of this new ESL program. Community resources in Utah and Idaho were carefully researched and selected by Sunpro’s leadership team.
Any non-English speaking employee, including new hires, is eligible to participate and receive reimbursement of 75% tuition, following proof of enrollment and attendance. Employees may take language courses as often as they feel the need, however, they must be approved and authorized by the company president. Additionally, courses may not interfere with job responsibilities and must be taken outside of regular working hours.
As a values-based company, Sunpro looks to select and develop people by investing in their growth. We believe an investment in our people is key to our long-term success. By providing the tools necessary to be successful, such as an ESL program, Sunpro continues to demonstrate that its employees are an integral part of the company’s mission of Building a Better Community.
