Leonardo Osorio has had a varied and accomplished career. As the HR Director at Sunpro, his journey includes roles at corporate entities such as Motorola and public institutions like the U.S. Department of State. These experiences refined his skills in leading both domestic and international human resources.
Worldwide HR Experience
“I started my career as a regional human resources generalist,” Leonardo said. “I have been fortunate to work in places like Austin, Texas, while supporting HR operations in Phoenix, Arizona; Toulouse, France; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Each location expanded my professional knowledge and provided insight into global workforce dynamics.”
At Sunpro, Leonardo’s international background and bilingual ability enhances the company’s vision. His experience was crucial in establishing the H-2B Visa program, which helped curb the labor shortage in the building materials space.
“This program, being relatively new, intrigued me,” Leonardo said. “I saw an opportunity to introduce international workers to our work culture and lifestyle. My previous experiences and connections made the initiation of this program at Sunpro possible.”
Merging International Expertise
Leonardo’s worldwide network, built over years, enables Sunpro to access this international talent. His collaborations with entities like the FBI’s legal attaché in India and El Salvador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been instrumental.
“We are giving people an opportunity to provide for their families,” Leonardo said. “That is the most important part of what we are doing, and I am so glad that we are able to be part of it.”
