Luis Tachiquin is a great example of Sunpro valuing people and investing in them and their career growth. He began at Sunpro 11 years ago when he joined as a team member on the shop floor. Over the years, he worked his way up, honing skills in several positions. With each step, his passion for his work became increasingly apparent, catching the attention of his superiors.
“Luis’s leadership style is truly remarkable,” said Joe Cranford, Truss Location Manager. “He possesses the unique ability to step back and lend a hand whenever needed, showing no hesitation to pick up a hammer or stack trusses alongside his team. His firsthand experience and understanding of the trade enable him to effectively teach and guide others.
“Additionally, his networking skills extend beyond the truss plant, as he actively engages with various departments and other teams, once again demonstrating his exceptional leadership style within our division.”
Functioning as a truss operations manager, Luis has become a driving force within the company, leading by example and inspiring his team.
“It has been a journey of growth and learning,” Luis said. “I feel grateful for the trust and support I’ve received from the company.”
Luis aspires to continue Building a Better Community and become a location manager at some point in the future.

“With this new system, lumber goes straight to the tables, significantly reducing manual labor,” Luis said. “We’ve also automated the process of cutting trusses, saving time and improving accuracy. These technological advancements have revolutionized our operations, making us more efficient and productive.”
While Luis embraces the benefits that technology brings, he acknowledges the challenges that come with operating a diverse team.
“Managing people with different personalities and ensuring smooth collaboration can be challenging at times,” Luis said. “But I enjoy the opportunity to work with a talented team and help them grow professionally. It’s all part of the job, and the rewards outweigh the challenges.”
With his proven ability to lead, Luis is well on his way to great heights. He feels rewarded when his team members share in his successes.
“Seeing my coworkers succeed and witnessing the completion of projects we’ve contributed to is incredibly fulfilling,” Luis said. “Whether it’s a residential house, a commercial building, or an apartment complex, knowing that we played a part in bringing it to life is the best part of the day.”
